Career

Whether you’re looking to take a break from the workforce, or coming back after a gap, or you’re looking for something new that aligns with your new priorities. Here are a few career resources to get you started:

  • Pregnant @ Work
  • Pregnant at Work is your dedicated online resource center that provides tools and educational materials for pregnant and breastfeeding workers, the healthcare professionals who treat them, and the attorneys who represent them. Your comprehensive source for navigating pregnancy in the workplace with confidence.
  • The Mom Project
  • The Mom Project connects companies with skilled mothers looking for flexible, remote, or part-time work. It aims to create a more inclusive workforce, helping moms balance their careers and family life. Businesses can find diverse, qualified talent, while moms gain access to job opportunities and career resources.
  • Single Mom Jobs Network
  • A resource platform for single parents to find job listings, career advice, and education tools and business development. They connect parents to coaching, resume and cover letter assistance, and skill-building resources.

Education

Maybe you’re more focused on your education right now and how that’s going to propel you forward in your field. If you’re in the middle of your program, just got accepted, or are considering going back to school, we’ve found some organizations we like to help you feel more confident about your rights as a student, finding resources to help you through your program and through to graduation.

  • The Pregnant Scholar
  • The Pregnant Scholar is an online support hub for students and academics navigating pregnancy and parenthood. Find resources, community, and solutions for achieving a successful balance between academia and motherhood.
  • Student Parent Success Initiative
  • Through the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, the Student Parent Success Initiative (SPSI) conducts research, provides assistance and communicates to build partnerships with educational institutions across the country to support parenting students. Contact your college or university to ask if they are participating and what resources they offer to students who are parenting.

We’ve also compiled a list of scholarship opportunities for single moms. You can check that out here!

This list is not exhaustive, and we’re looking to add more resources as we find them. If you have found a resource that has worked for you, let us know! You can email us at hello@shemight.com, so we can share the wealth of resources out there!
